Albert Rizzo is a trained arbitrator and court-certified mediator on the rosters of the New York State Supreme Courts in the five counties of New York City, Westchester and Nassau Counties.
As an arbitrator and mediator, he brings to the table over 35 years of litigation experience representing numerous clients in business, employment and commercial disputes in the state and Federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
He has been involved as an arbitrator, mediator and settlement negotiator in numerous matters from small claims to multi-million-dollar claims involving business, employment, real estate, insurance, construction and securities law matters. He also mediated numerous business and homeowner insurance cases designated for the Storm Sandy Mediation Program mandated by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and sponsored by the American Arbitration Association. Al has mediated claims totaling in the 100's of millions of dollars in the aggregate--the majority of them to successful resolution.
As a result of representing clients in his litigation and business law practice for many years, he has become a strong advocate for ADR.
Al is also an Adjunct Professor teaching Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution at New York University, Graduate School of Professional Studies, a member of the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Mediator Neutrals, an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a Distinguished Neutral for the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, a mediator for the New York State Courts, and an arbitrator for the NYS Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Resolution Program.
